Design guidelines
Rules of thumb that keep a print predictable. We will flag anything outside these before we run your job, this is just so you know what to expect.
- Minimum wall thickness
- 1.2 mm, 0.8 mm for small decorative parts
- Maximum unsupported overhang
- 45° from vertical without supports
- Minimum hole diameter
- 3 mm for a clean pass through
- Recommended tolerance
- ± 0.3 mm, tighter on request with a longer lead time
- Orientation
- We choose orientation for strength and finish unless you tell us otherwise
- Text and fine detail
- 2 mm minimum feature size at 0.20 mm layers
